Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation, Inc.

Awards: The Foundation awards scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each to graduating high school seniors throughout the State of Wisconsin. In 2008 twenty-five to thirty such scholarships will be awarded.  In addition, six $750 scholarships will be awarded to first-year students in the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College two-year telecommunications program.

Eligibility: Students in graduating classes of high schools in Wisconsin are eligible for a Foundation scholarship. Each applicant must be endorsed by a participating local exchange telephone company.  AT&T (SBC/Ameritech), Verizon, and CenturyTel do not participate in the WSTF Scholarship process.  If you are in AT&T, Verizon or CenturyTel serving areas, you are not eligible to apply for a WSTA scholarship.  Academic excellence is taken into consideration but is not paramount to receiving one of the scholarships. The primary considerations are: First, the student has expressed a sincere desire to continue his or her education; Second, has demonstrated the ability; and third, has financial need.
