About WSTF
Fifty-Seven years ago, a few leaders of the telecommunications industry in our state joined together to develop a Foundation to further the education of young people in Wisconsin. This Foundation was established in 1965. The members of the Foundation are those companies, which belong to the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association as active or associate members. Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation (WSTF) accomplishes its purpose by awarding scholarships to deserving students across the state. Since 1966, the Foundation has awarded more than $1,796,950 in scholarships. These scholarships have helped 1,417 students. The majority of these scholarships have gone to high school seniors desiring to further their education. Money for the fund is contributed by people associated with the telecommunications industry in Wisconsin. In 2022, 106 applications were received. The Foundation awarded thirty (30) $1,500 to students this year, an additional five (5) $750 awards to students attending a technical college, and one (1) $1,500 award to the winner of the WSTF Bruce Reuber Memorial Scholarship. Please see the 2021 WSTF Scholarship Program. The Foundation is only able to make such awards with the financial support of people or companies associated with the telecommunications industry in Wisconsin. A substantial portion of the funding comes from the Associate Members and Industry Friends. In sixteen years, these two groups have donated 44% of the funds received. The Scholarship Foundation wishes to express their sincere appreciation for this financial support. This level of support is vital to the success of the program. Again, this year the Foundation will be offering a $1,500 scholarship for each $1,200 contributed from each telecommunications company between June 1, 2022 and March 15, 2023. We urge your company to consider donating $300 or more to make up the difference. Please consider devoting a portion of your resources to supporting the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation. Your donation helps deserving students work towards their educational goals and is tax deductible |
